June 2008: Individual donors are trying to save the life of Baby Mariam to be treated at the King Hussein Cancer Center

Two year old Mariam Raad arrived on April 6, 2008 at the King Hussein Cancer Center in a critical condition with a tumor on the left side of her face and her left eye is perforated and she was immediately admitted into the ICU to begin chemotherapy. Her treatment cost has now reached over $ 70,000 as she has just started her fourth course of chemotherapy. Mariam is in dire need of initial surgery to remove the tumor as well as several reconstructive surgeries for her to be able to lead a normal life.

"It is truly a miracle that this poor child is still alive. We are committed to doing everything possible to save her life" Dr. Faris Madanat, Chairman of Pediatrics at the King Hussein Cancer Center.

April 2008: The Ray Tye Medical Aid Foundation donates USD $25,000 to cover the treatment costs of our young Iraqi patient, Safa'a

The Ray Tye Medical Aid Foundation has made it possible for Safa'a to begin treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center. Safa'a arrived from Baghdad to Amman on May 5, 2008. This generous donation can now cover Safa's treatment costs. Safa'a is one of the fortunate children whose treatment costs are covered by generous individuals and organizations.

Furthermore, we still have many other children on our waiting list, knocking on our doors daily. In response to that, KHCF established an Iraqi Goodwill Fund in April 2006 and all donations to this Fund are earmarked for those patients who have no medical insurance and are therefore unable to meet cancer treatment costs.
